Mr. Byron Carter, of Olive Road, died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at University Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Peoples Funeral Home with the Rev. Lessel Leonard officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park.
Mr. Carter, a native of Augusta, was a forklift operator. He had attended Academy of Richmond County High School and was a graduate of Voorhees Technical College. He was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, LaKisha Renee Jennings, Augusta; his father Frank Carter Sr., Augusta; his mother, Addie P. Carter, Augusta; three brothers, Anthony Carter, Frank Carter Jr. and Melvin Carter, all of Augusta; three sisters, Betty Johnson, Trenton, Shirley Dunbar, Hephzibah, and Brenda Senior, Augusta; and a grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie L. Jennings, Aaron Johnson, Michael Dunbar, Mack Pressley, Marlow Gregory, Steve Thomas, Nathaniel Williams and Henry Pressley.
