SPARTA, Ga. -- Miss Shanquante Valiste Kennedy, 18, of Dixie Street, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at Hancock Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. E. DeSilver officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Miss Kennedy, a native of Sparta, was a student at Hancock Central High School, where she was a member of the marching band, Future Homemakers of America, National Honor Society, 4-H Club and Morris Brown University Upward Bound Program. She was a member of St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she was president of YPD and youth ensemble, pianist and choir member.
The family said: "Affectionately known as Quana, was very out spoken and friendly. Loves shopping, traveling, dancing, going out with friends and rolling in the heavy Chevy."
Survivors include her father, Sherard C. Kennedy Sr.; a brother, Sherard C. Kennedy Jr.; and a sister, Davina Shenita Woods.
Friends may call at the residence.
