Mrs. Essie Cartledge



LINCOLNTON, Ga. -- Mrs. Essie Ross Cartledge, 96, of Augusta Highway, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lincolnton Baptist Church with Revs. Allen Danner and David L. Sandridge officiating. Burial will be in Loco Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Cartledge, a native of Jefferson County, had retired as a Loco telephone operator after 47 years. She was a former member of Loco Baptist Church and a member of Lincolnton Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn C. Drinkard, Lincolnton, and Margarette C. Johnson, Thomson; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chadwick Drinkard, Christopher Drinkard, Eddie Drinkard, James Drinkard, Roy Drinkard and Harold Jones.

Memorials may be made to Lincolnton Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 357, Lincolnton, GA 30817.

Friends may call at the residence of Edwin Drinkard, 1542 Augusta Highway, Lincolnton.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Rees Funeral Home.
