Mrs. Marina Hurst



GRANITEVILLE -- Mrs. Marina Hurst, of Brooks Street, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Anne Maria Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Mount Zion-Cumberland African Methodist Episcopal Church, Aiken, with the Rev. Moses Miller officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Community Cemetery.

Mrs. Hurst, a native of Aiken, was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the senior choir, Gospelaries Choir and Hannan/Stephens Choir. She was also a member Mount Zion-Cumberland African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she was a member of the Women's Missionary Society and superintendent of the Sunday school.

The family said, "She received her early education in the public schools of Aiken, S.C., attended Bell Street High School in Clinton, S.C., and received her associates degree from Bettis Academy Jr. College, Trenton, S.C."

Survivors include a sister, Frances L. Hutchingson, Aiken.

Friends may call the residence of Frances L. Hutchingson, 568 Williamsburg St., NE, or at Jackson-Brooks Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
