Mr. Lyria Edwards, 78, of Rachel Street, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Springfield Baptist Church with the Rev. E.T. Martin officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Edwards, a native of Reynolds, had retired from the Army and was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Magnolia Edwards; two sons, Lemont Monroe Sr., Augusta, and Barry Turner Sr., Lexington, Ky.; his mother, Florence McHelen, Augusta; two brothers, Clinton Edwards, Augusta, and Lenwood Edwards, Orlando, Fla.; and seven sisters, Eunice M. Webb and Aurelia Washington, both of Augusta, Mary E. Holston and Edna Lucas, both of Macon, Virginia Martin, Miami, Mildred Medders and Louise Gibson, Roberta.
Pallbearers will be members of an Army honor guard.
Friends may call at the residence, or at C.A. Reid Sr. Memorial Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
