Mr. Phillip James Young, 50, died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at his residence.
The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at Poteet Funeral Home, Wheeler Road. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
Mr. Young, a native of Lancaster, SC., had retired from the U.S. Army and had retired as a teacher. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a certified dive master and paratrooper jump master. He was a member of Westside Club, American Legion, Sacketts Harbor, N.Y., Veterans of Foreign Wars, Watertown, N.Y., and Disabled Veterans. He was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona V. Kalpokas; two sons, Paul Jonas Young and David Alexander Young, both of Augusta; his parents, Henry H. Young Jr. and Dorothy L. Young, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; four brothers, Henry H. Young III, Chester, S.C., Donald A. Young, Charlotte, N.C., Richard Young, Rhinemain, Germany, and John Young, Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Susan Gadson, Sarasota; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of an Army honor guard.

The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
