EVANS -- Mr. H. Grady Kay, 81, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital, Augusta.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Pine Hill Baptist Church, Hephzibah, with the Rev. Julius D. Turner officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta.
Mr. Kay, a native of Millen, had retired with Georgia-Florida Railroad and Gracewood State School and Hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Woodmen of the World. He was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Cadle Bible Sunday School Class.
The family said: "Grady was a hero to his family, a devoted husband and a pillar of strength for all. A true Christian, he only hoped for everyone's well-being."
Survivors include his wife, Annie Smith Kay; a son, Grady Carroll Kay, Corpus Christi, Texas; four daughters, Wanda Kay Brush and Judy Kay Harsey, both of Augusta, Fay Ann Truluck, Houston, and Gail Kay Trzonkowski, Martinez; a brother, Roy Kay, Augusta; three sisters, Willie Bishop and Audrey Oglesby, both of Garfield, and Imogene Turner, Statesboro; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles "Chad" Truluck II, Richard "Ritchie" Harsey Jr., Byron Harsey, Todd Kay, Adam Trzonkowski, and Justin Owens.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cadle Bible Sunday School class.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Lumpkin Road.
