Mrs. Lois Brannon



Mrs. Lois "Miss B.B." Goss Brannon, 86, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000, at Forest Lake Health Care Center.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at First Advent Christian Church with the Revs. Raymond Brown and Joseph Pritchett officiating.

Mrs. Brannon, a native of Augusta, had retired as a cloth inspector from Graniteville Co., Sibley Division. She also was a cake baker. She was a member of the Lamplighters seniors' group and Women's Home. She was a member of First Advent Christian Church, where she was music director emeritus, a former Sunday school teacher and a member of Foreign Mission Society. She was a recipient of National Inquirer's Good Samaritan Award.

The family said: "She was a perfect example of Christianity, doing for others and putting herself last. She was loved dearly by her family."

Survivors include two daughters, Evelyn Priest Brannen and Sarah Priest Dailey, both of Augusta; and two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rick James, Marvin Overman, Robbie Couch, Frank Sanders, Charlie Bowman and Lionel Odum.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 2623 Washington Road, Augusta, GA 30904; or to First Advent Christian Church Building Fund, 1263 Marks Church Road, Augusta, GA 30909.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Poteet Funeral Home, Peach Orchard Road.
