KITE, Ga. -- Mr. J.C. Cooper, 82, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at the Emanuel Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kite Church of God with the Rev. Allen Meeks and Woodrow Beasley officiating. Burial will be in Kite City Cemetery.
Mr. Cooper, a native of Washington County, was a farmer and owner and operator of Cooper Grocery Store and Crossroad Grocery. He was a member of Church of God.
Survivors include three sons, James Cooper, Jerry Cooper and Jackie Cooper, all of Kite; two daughters, Jean Flanders, Dellwood, and Johnnie Mae Taylor, Macon; a brother, Jimmy Cooper, Kite; three sisters, Thelma Cooper, Evie Dell Pernell and Doris Williams, all of Kite; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Henry, Jimmy Wilson, Alton Hooks, Forest Davis, Harry Martin and Jay Lawson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary, Swainsboro, or at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
