Hartford snaps losing streak



WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- Darrick Johnson scored 23 points to help Hartford defeat New Hampshire 79-59, and snap a six-game losing streak.

Jackson's performance matched a career high. He has now scored in double figures in five straight games.

Keyon Smith added a career-high 17 points and 9 rebounds for Hartford (3-8, 1-4 America East).

Colin Donahue scored 15 points and had 7 rebounds for New Hampshire (2-12, 1-4).

HARTFORD, Conn. -- Albert Mouring was perfect from long range as Connecticut built a 17-point lead, then Khalid El-Amin made the big plays down the stretch as the fifth-ranked Huskies beat No. 15 Texas.

The Huskies (12-2) were making their first appearance at the Hartford Civic Center since losing there last Wednesday to Notre Dame, a loss that dropped them three spots in the Top 25.

Mouring finished with 21 points, one off his career high, while El-Amin had 14 points and eight assists.

Chris Mihm finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds, scoring eight points over the final six minutes for Texas.
