SPARTA, Ga. -- Mr. Robert Bruce Hyman, 79, of Route 3, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at University Hospital, Augusta.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Culverton Cemetery, with the Rev. Louis W. Eldridge officiating.
Mr. Hyman, a native of Warren County, was the owner and operator of Hyman's Grocery. A veteran of World War II, he was a resident of Hancock County most of his life and was a member of Sparta Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5648 and Culverton Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dottie Covert Hyman, Culverton; three sons, Claude Langford, West Columbia, S.C., James Conant, Canton, and William Hedgepath, Greenbriar, Ariz.; four daughters, Pearl Simms, Grovetown, Patricia Irons, West Columbia, Earlene Talley, Orlando, Fla., and Jane Reynolds, Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Ralph Hyman, Sparta; and 21 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Conant, Freddie Norris, Bobby Hyman, Ray Worsham, Steve Mann, Benny Clark, Mike Dunn, Marshall Mote and Wade Wilson.
Friends may call at McCommons Funeral Home, Greensboro.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at First Baptist Church, Culverton.
