WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. George W. Sullivan, 82, of Georgia Highway 23, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McElmurray Spring Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Stokes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Sullivan, a native of Burke County, was a barber and a supervisor. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a former member of Greater Vine Hill Baptist Church, New York. He was a member of Gray's Grove Church.
The family said: "He was a great son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and an adorable uncle loved by everyone. He will be dearly missed."
Survivors include four brothers, Ben Mobley, Opa Locka, Fla., Hugh Sullivan, West Palm Beach, Fla., James Willie Sullivan, Tampa, Fla., and Roy Sullivan, Waynesboro; four sisters, Katie Wilson and Gertrude Sullivan, both of Boynton Beach, Fla., Hattie Mathis, Bronx, N.Y., and Annie Jo Wesby, Waynesboro; and a grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Robert Whitfield, Moses Small, Thomas Williams, Michael Walker, Willie Sullivan and Ernest Sullivan.
Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of McElmurray Tabernacle Church and McElmurray Spring Branch Baptist Church.
Friends may call at the residence of Annie Jo Wesby, 1429 Georgia Highway 23, or at Phinazee and Son Funeral Home.
