JOHNSTON, S.C. -- The Rev. Captain T. Abney, 94, of Aiken Avenue, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Edgefield Health Care Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Edgefield, with the Rev. Delmar Calloway officiating. Burial will be in Bacon Chapel Fire Baptized Holiness Church Cemetery, Ridge Spring.
The Rev. Abney, a native of Edgefield County, had retired as a carpenter. He was a member of Bacon Chapel Fire Baptized Holiness Church, where he was a former assistant pastor.
Survivors include three sons, George Abney, Thomson, and C.T. Abney Jr. and Sylvester Abney, both of Johnston; seven daughters, Lucinda Edwards, Brooklyn, N.Y., Katherine Cook, Redding, Pa., Deloris Marshall, Loretta Johnson and Bessie Mathis, all of Johnston, Sylvia Frazier, St. George, and Dale McManus, Edgefield; and 50 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
