RIDGEWAY, S.C. -- Mr. Lon T. Graves Sr., 88, of Shivers Green Road, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at Kershaw County Medical Center, Camden.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Hatcher Funeral Home, Langley, with the Revs. Tommy Graves and Allen Goodwin and Dr. Finley Limehouse officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Augusta.
Mr. Graves, a native of Wilkes County, Ga., had retired from Greyhound Bus Co. after 32 years. He was a former member of Heights Baptist Church, Beech Island, where he was deacon emeritus and a member of Young at Heart and the men's Sunday school class. He was a member of Crossroads Church.
The family said: "He and his wife, Marie Huff Graves, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on November 18, 1999."
Survivors include his wife, Marie Huff Graves; three sons, Tommy Graves and Gerald Huff Graves, both of Ridgeway, and George Graves, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter, Ann Goodwin, Wagener; a sister, Elizabeth Graves Toole, Ridgeway; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Young at Heart of Heights Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 1601 Williston Road, Beech Island, SC 29842.
