Mr. Kermit "Jimmy" Murphy, 88, of Augusta, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at Columbia-Augusta Medical Center.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. William Burch officiating.
Mr. Murphy, a native of Murphy, had retired as a clothing salesman. He was a member of Burns Memorial United Methodist Church and had lived most of his life in Augusta. He was the husband of the late Christine Rosier Murphy.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Rickey and Gail B. Murphy and Jerry C. and Chris J. Murphy, all of Augusta; two brothers, Curtis W. Murphy, Thomasville, and Ray F. Murphy, Leesburg, Fla.; three sisters, Evelyn Eason, Rocky Mount, N.C., Reba Gore, Monroe, La., and Lois Ford, Ocala, Fla.; five grandchildren, Rickard K. Murphy, Christina L. Murphy, J.J. Murphy, Keith Murphy and Chris Hooker; two great-grandchildren, Amberly Murphy and Jason Murphy; a brother-in-law, Sylvester L. Rosier Jr., Augusta; and four sisters-in-law, Marin R. Stewart, Delois R. Usry, Binkie R. James and Lynda R. Hand, all of Augusta.
Friends may call at the residence of Ricky Murphy, Oakdale Road.
Poteet Funeral Home, Wheeler Road, is in charge of arrangements.
