Ga. Player of the week

Donald Williams, Thomson, junior, defensive back

The Performance:

Williams recorded eight tackles and intercepted two passes in a 20-10 victory over Dublin, which clinched the Region 3-AAA title for the Bulldogs. Williams two interceptions set up a 23-yard field goal from B.L. Johnson. Then his second touchdown set up quarterback Chris Taylor's 25-yard run. Williams helped turn Dublin quarterback Mitchell McGhee's night into a nightmare. McGhee attempted only three passes in the game and all three were interceptions.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pounder had a career game against the Irish and his without his performance, the Bulldogs could have lost a chance to win the region title.

Thomson coach Luther Welsh on Williams:

"He had a good night. One of his interceptions set up a field goal then his other one set up a touchdown. He had a really good game."
