ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. -- Mr. Wade H. Hannah, 72, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Souteast Georgia Regional Medical Center, Brunswick.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Williams Catholic Church and at 11 a.m. Dec. 4 at St. Phillips Catholic Church, Moncks Corner, S.C., with Father Michael J. Davison officiating.
Mr. Hannah was a adjunct professor of political science and history at Valdosta State University, Coastal Georgia Community College and Armstrong State College. He was a graduate of the Citadel, and Vanderbilt University. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 166, Ammended Hearts Club, Citadel Club, the Monday Night Marching Chowder and Pinochle Club of Navy Veterans of World War II.
Survivors include five sons, Wade H. Hannah Jr., Alachua, Fla., William C. Hannah, Jacksonville, Fla., John A. Hannah, Birmingham, Ala., James G. Hannah, New Orleans, and Stephen M. Hannah, Navar, Fla.; four daughters, Aline M. Simon, San Antonio, Margaret Blumfield, Fort Washington, Md., Mary K. Weishan, Henderson, Nev., and Ruth Hannah, Riverdale, Md.; a brother, Edward Hannah, Columbus, Ohio; and three sisters, Mattie Elliott and Jean Stokes, both of McCormick, S.C., Ruth Thornley, Moncks Corner; and 12 grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Coastal Georgia Community College Library.
Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
