Mrs. Elvira Butler



TRENTON, S.C. -- Mrs. Elvira Pressley Butler, 70, of Winding Road, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Jeter Baptist Church, Edgefield, with the Rev. James E. Thomas officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Butler, a native of Edgefield County, had retired from University Hospital. She was a member of the Rock Hill Society and was a member of Jeter Baptist Church, where she was treasurer of the senior choir.

Survivors include three sons, Melvin Butler, North Augusta, and Bennie Butler Jr. and Albert Butler Sr., both of Trenton; two daughters, Rosa Mae Butler and Addie "Eve" Thomas, both of Trenton; two brothers, Mack Pressley Sr., Trenton, and Henry Pressley, North Augusta; six sisters, Rosa Bell Tucker, Newark, N.J., Addie Bell Carter, Augusta, Annie W. Thomas, Edgefield, Fannie C. Walker and Thelma Walker, both of Aiken, and Betty Johnson, Trenton; and 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence of Addie and Johnnie Thomas, Winding Road, or at G.L. Brightharp and Sons Mortuary, North Augusta.
