AIKEN -- Mr. Robert Lee Chandler, 67, of Vivion Drive, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church with Dr. Fred W. Andrea III officiating. Private burial will be Thursday in Southlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Chandler, a native of Cedartown, Ga., had retired as director of the Process and Weapon Division of the Department of Energy at Savannah River Site. He was a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in chemical engineering. He was a former volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the property committee.
The family said, "He was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather."
Survivors include his wife, Eva Dyer Chandler; three sons, Michael Curtis Chandler, North Augusta, Gregory Thomas Chandler, Aiken, and Jeffrey Lee Chandler, Nottingham, England; his mother, Carmie Whitton Chandler, Cedartown; a brother, Richard Edward Chandler, Cedartown; a sister, Frances Chandler Sherrell, Blue Water Bay, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 3157, Aiken, SC 29802.
The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
