Mr. James Sherman, of Florence Street, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at University Hospital.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.C. Phinizy officiating. Burial will be in Walker Memorial Park.
Mr. Sherman, a native of Augusta, was a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Dixie Jubilee Gospel Singers.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Sherman; seven sons, James Sherman, Larry Sherman, Willie Sherman, Clinton Sherman, Ernest Sherman, Calvin Sherman and David Sherman; a daughter, Lynda Little; a stepdaughter, Gwendolyn L. Thomas; his mother, Savannah Sherman; a brother, Doyle Sherman; three sisters, Ruth Mack, Dorothy Graham and Betty Jean Hunt; and 27 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and a stepgreat-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be his nephews.
