NEW ELLENTON -- Mr. Harry Robert Sankey Sr., 75, of 103 Stanley Drive, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at George Funeral Home with Capt. Patrick Appleget officiating. Burial will be in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Sankey, a native of Plum Creek Township, Iowa, had retired from the Army as staff sergeant after 27 years. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He also had retired from Hamburg Industries as an electrician. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Mae Sankey; three sons, Harry R. Sankey Jr., Evans, Andrew Sankey, Anniston, Ala., and Richard Sankey, Springdale, Ark.; a brother, August Sankey; four sisters, Viola Kobringer, Davenport, Iowa, Norma Jean Johnson, Bancroft, Iowa, Anna Marie Foster, Algona, Iowa, and Maude Johnson Boyer, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be members of the Army Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
