Jones carried the ball just 14 times, but racked up 153 yards and four touchdowns in leading the Bulldogs to a 41-0 rout of Swansea. The senior scored the first three touchdowns of the game on runs of 30,1, and 10. He added another 28-yard score in the second half. Jones has a total of 12 touchdowns after four games.
Jones, a 5-foot-10, 175-pounder, is coming back from missing four games last year with a knee injury. The senior led Silver Bluff in rushing in only his sophomore year, and was leading last season up until the injury. The speedster anchored the Bulldogs Class AA state championship 400 meter relay, and placed runner up finishes in the 100 and 200 meter runs.
Silver Bluff coach Al Lown on Jones:
"He had a great running game, and he had some good blocking. But he did make some big plays out of small holes. Marcus hits the hole really quick; I mean really quick."
