Troy Albea (RB, Appalachian State) /Lincoln County/ Recovered a muffed kickoff for a touchdown and rushed for 30 yards as the backup tailback before suffering a slight ankle sprain in last week's victory over Eastern Kentucky.

Brian Jacobs (OL, Appalachian State)/ North Augusta/ Suffered season-ending knee injury in preseason.

Troy Tolbert (CB, Georgia Tech)/ Josey/ Comes off two-game academic suspension and is listed as second string for Central Florida game.

Chip Dykes (RB, Arizona Western JC)/ Josey/ Scored touchdowns on runs of 3 and 62 yards and rushed for 103 yards and caught a pass for 15 yards in 56-42 season-opening loss to Phoenix College in Yuma, Ariz., last Saturday. Arizona Western runs the spread offense, just like Georgia Southern.

Seth Yates (TE, East Carolina)/ Evans/ Hasn't played yet, but 6-5, 235-pounder is on the traveling squad for unbeaten Pirates' trip to South Carolina on Saturday.

Chris Horne (LB, Alabama)/Washington County/ Returns from two-game suspension and should see playing time against Louisiana Tech on Saturday.
