Mrs. Ruth Hammonds Bussey, 68, of 1415 Jackson Road, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Edgefield, S.C., with Dr. Robert W. Turner Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bussey, a native of Edgefield County, was a homemaker and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Nathaniel Freeman; four daughters, Patricia A. Boney, Hazel Bussey and Cassandra J. Bussey, all of Augusta, and Bernice Burke, Albany; her mother, Mary Emma Hammonds, Belvedere; four brothers, Willie Hammonds Jr., Lexington, Ky., James A. Hammonds, Philadelphia, Matthew K. Hammonds, Augusta, and Timothy M. Hammonds, Aiken; seven sisters, Ora Mae Mims, Betty Davis and Nettie Thurmond, all of North Augusta, Alice Schoultz, Augusta, and Martha Peterson, Mary Kenner and Beverly Curry, all of Belvedere; and five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
