Jamaal Johnson, North Augusta, senior, RBThe Performance:

Johnson piled up 300 yards of total offense in the Jackets 28-21 victory over Butler last week. He totaled 243 yards, including touchdowns on runs of 20 and 35 yards, on 27 carries. The senior not only on the torched the Bulldogs defense on the ground but he also caught four passes for 51 yards and returned punts and kickoffs for 44 moreyards.

Profile:

Johnson, a 6-foot-0, 180-pounder, is starting in his second season for North Augusta after transferring from Midland Valley two years ago. The speedster, who won a Gold medal in this summer's Georgia Games in the 4-X-100 relay, runs a 4.42 40-yard-dash, and is on pace to elude his 1,300 yards rushing a year ago.

North Augusta coach Joe Long on Johnson:

"Hefinished as strong as anybody could finish against a very good Butler team. He did everything well. Jamaal is just good. What else can you say about that kid?"
