BRONX, N.Y. -- Mrs. Jean O. Kirkland, 43, of 2709 Webb Ave., died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999, at her residence.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Summerville Baptist Church, Augusta, with the Revs. Clinton Edwards Jr. and James Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Southview Cemetery.
Mrs. Kirkland, a native of Augusta, was formerly employed with University Hospital and was a registered nurse with the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers in Augusta and New York City. She was a graduate of T.W. Josey High School and the Medical College of Georgia. She was a member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Union Georgia Club and vice chairman of the trustee board. She was also a member of the Universal Masonic Brotherhood Inc. and Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Edward White Jr.; two stepdaughters, Krystal White and LaVern White; a brother, Jerry D. Kirkland, Perry, Ga.; and three sisters, Mary Alexander, Miami, Claudia K. O'Bryant, Macon, and Gail K. Green, Augusta.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the 1974 class of T.W. Josey High School.
Peoples Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
