WARRENTON, Ga. -- Mr. Austin T. Jones Jr., 71, of 698 Washington Highway N.E., died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lithonia Baptist Church, Camak, with the Rev. William Evans Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Future Progress Society Cemetery.
Mr. Jones, a native of Warren County, had retired as a mechanic. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict and a member of St. Barnabus Lodge 91, Free and Accepted Masons, and the Future Progress Society. He was a member of Lithonia Baptist Church, where he was on the deacon board and taught Sunday school.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Jones; two sons, Larry D. Jones, Las Vegas, and Gregory K. Jones, Dallas; a daughter, Vernail M. Price, Savannah; a sister, Hattie Jeffrey, Camak; and eight grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of St. Barnabus Lodge 91, Free and Accepted Masons.
Friends may call at the residence or at Dawson's Mortuary, Warrenton, until 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The family will receive friends in the Lithonia Baptist Church fellowship hall after the burial.
