Augusta GreenJackets manager Billy Gardner and right-handed pitcher Marty McLeary will be heading west following the Jackets' season to participate in the California Fall League.
Gardner will manage the San Bernardino San Dragons, where McLeary and four other Red Sox minor leaguers will play in the first season of the California Fall League.
Last season, the four-team league operated out of Maryland but has moved to stadium sites in the California League. The fall league has a 42-game schedule concluding with a two-day playoff Nov. 6-7.
The GreenJackets have filled out their 25-player roster Monday by adding infielder Joe Kerrigan Jr. from the Lowell Spinners of the New York-Penn League.
Kerrigan, 22, was 1-4 for the Jackets in Saturday's victory over the Charleston (W.Va.) Alley Cats and was 2-5 in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning victory.
Kerrigan, son of Boston Red Sox pitching coach Joe Kerrigan who was drafted No. 49 in the 1999 first-year draft, batted .314 in the NY-P League with a .420 on-base percentage. He played collegiately at Temple.
