SALUDA, S.C. -- Saluda scored on its first five possessions and the Tigers roared over outmanned McCormick in their prep football opener Friday night.
The Chiefs lost senior running back Morrice Brown, who scored his team's only touchdown, to a knee injury. The extent of the injury was not known Friday night.
Brown was the Chiefs' leading ground-gainer with 96 yards on 20 carries.
McCormick lost the ball twice -- once on an interception, the other on a fumble -- and both led to Saluda scores.
The Tigers were led by Mike Abney who had 19 carries for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Demond Johnson carried 10 times for 61 yards and Fred Coleman twice for 42 yards.
