Brian Williams - Williston-Elko

Profile: Brian led the area in rushing a year ago, compiling 1,600 yards with 20 touchdowns at only 5-7 and 145 pounds. The senior, who bench presses 260 pounds, puts winning a Class A state title as the most important goal in his last season. The Blue Devils made it to the third round in 1998 before losing to Calhoun Falls. And even at a smaller size, Brian has still gotten interest from Division I-AA schools such as South Carolina State, Georgia Southern and the Citadel.

Vitals: 5-7, 145; 4.7 40; Bench: 260; Squat: 350

Charlie Combs on Williams: "He's a tough inside runner and he's not afraid to get in there and mix it up. He's quick and tough and that makes up for whatever he lacks in the size department."

Williams on Williams: "I've been running against bigger players forever and it doesn't bother me. I'm not really worried about what I do this season, all I want is to win a state championship. We've got a team full of athletes and winning will bring whatever attention I need to me."
