Profile: Marcus is possibly the fastest player in the area and is looking to rebound after injuring a knee against West Laurens, Ga., in the fifth game of last season. He was the Bulldogs' leading rusher at the time and finished the year with 560 yards in five games. The 5-10, 175-pound speedster led Silver Bluff in rushing as a sophomore and was the Class AA Lower State champion in the 100 and 200 meter runs as a junior. He also anchored the 400 meter relay to a first place finish in the Class AA state finals meet while taking runner-up spots in the 100 and 200. Jones has received interest from South Carolina and is a projected Division I player.
Vitals: 5-10, 175;
Al Lown on Jones: "I think he is a heck of a player who has unbelievable speed. He's grown a lot and I think he realizes what's in front of him. He would've been our leading rusher last season if he didn't get hurt and I look for him to have a blowout year this year."
Jones on Jones: "I want to come out and have a big year, especially since I got hurt last season so early. I feel stronger than ever and I'll definitely make the most of this final run. First things first and that's to play together as a team and let things go from there."
