This week's "You Can't Be Serious" award goes to Ohio Democrats who are taking a look at nominating violence-inciting TV host Jerry Springer next year to run against GOP incumbent Mike DeWine for the state's U.S. Senate seat.
They apparently believe Springer's political experience as a former Cincinnati City councilman, combined with his name-recognition generated from his rancid TV show, would make him a strong challenger. One prominent Buckeye State Democrat gurgles that Springer would be a "viable, fascinating, interesting candidate."
This prompted an equally prominent Republican to counter, "At last Democrats would be putting up a candidate who truly embodies the family values they stand for."
