Mr. Edgar Houston



WRENS, Ga. -- Mr. Edgar Houston, 37, of 319 Stapleton Highway, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, at Swainsboro Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Waysgrove Baptist Church, Stellaville, with the Rev. Jimmy McCollough officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Houston, a native of Jefferson County, was a welder. He was a member of Waysgrove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Roslyn Houston; a daughter, Dianne Houston, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; his father, Walter "Doug" Nelson Sr., Wrens; his mother, Carrie Mae Houston, Fort Lauderdale; 10 brothers, Jimmy Glades, Robert Houston, Willie Glades, Nathaniel Houston, Joe Houston, John Willie Houston and Charlie Lee Houston, all of Fort Lauderdale, and Walter George Nelson, Wallace Nelson and George Nelson, all of Wrens; eight sisters, Delores Bronson, Hinesville, Cynthia Houston, Fort Lauderdale, and Sandra Nelson, Janice Wheeler, Diane Hobbs, Wanda White, Shelia Whitaker and Mary Neely, all of Wrens.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Nelson, Vernon Oliphant, Calvin Oliphant, John Lee Nelson, Willie Lee Nelson, Willies James Oliphant and Lee Marvin Jordan.

Freeman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
