THOMSON -- Mrs. Mary Ann Garrison, 69, of 305 Thomas Ave., died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at Elsie Burke Health Care Facility.
Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at Thomson Presbyterian Church with Dr. Wilfred Bellamy officiating.
Mrs. Garrison, a native of Alabama, was a graduate of Georgia State College, where she received her bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in social sciences. She was also a graduate of the University of Georgia, where she received a specialist degree in education in social sciences and certification for hospital/homebound teaching. She taught in DeKalb County and McDuffie County. She was a member of the National Education Association, Georgia Education Association, Georgia Business Education Association, Decatur Business Education Association and Professional Women's Club. She was a member of Thomson Presbyterian Church.
The family said, "She devoted tireless effort toward education of youth and hospital/homebound children."
Survivors include a son, Thomas Paul Garrison III, Maryland; a daughter, Paula Garrison Gunby, Thomson; a brother, William Bond Jr., Thomson; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Thomson Presbyterian Church.
Friends may call at the residence of her daughter, 1085 Cedar Rock Road, Thomson.
