Jackets keep league lead

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Augusta starter Josh Hancock gave up 10 hits, but luckily they came with few men on base as the GreenJackets defeated the RedStixx 6-2 in a South Atlantic League baseball game Thursday night.

The victory, coupled by Savannah's 8-4 win over Macon, kept Augusta a half-game ahead of the Braves in the league's Southern Division.

The teams play again tonight before Augusta returns home Saturday for a two-game series with Savannah.
