Some schools to get new leaders

Six elementary schools and two middle schools in Richmond County will have new principals this fall.

Several schools also will see new assistant principals.

The changes are among 23 administrative shuffles and hirings made this summer.

Ronald Wiggins, an eighth-grade teacher and basketball coach at Sego Middle School, is being transferred to Hephzibah High School as assistant principal.

"It's an exciting change, something I've worked hard to get," Mr. Wiggins said. "The biggest change will be dealing with an entire body of students instead of those in my classroom."

Mr. Wiggins also was an eighth-grade teacher.

At the Central office, Missoura Ashe received her second promotion in two years. Last year she went from principal of Barton Chapel Elementary School to director of personnel. This year she will serve as assistant superintendent for administrative services, taking over duties of Willie Mazyck.
