Mr. Roy B. Mitchell, 45, of Evans, died Thursday, July 22, 1999 in Forsythe.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Wesley United Methodist Church with Richard W. Thigpen officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park, Augusta.
Mr. Mitchell, a native of Augusta, was battalion chief for the Martinez Fire Department and a member of Georgia State Firefighters Association. He was a Baptist.
The family said, "He was a loving husband, father, and brother. He was a friend to all and served his community as a firefighter for 30 years."
Survivors include his wife, Deborah Cato Mitchell; two sons, Michael L. Mitchell, Grovetown, and Evan Ray Mitchell, Evans; and two brothers, James Clayton Mitchell Jr., Pittsburg, and Steve Warren Mitchell, Goose Creek, S.C.
Pallbearers will be Jim Howell, Todd Caron, Wayne Allen, Chris Wahman, David Dickson, James Thomas and Tony Holt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Martinez Fire Department firefighters.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home.
