WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Clifford Overstreet "C.O." Horton Jr., 80, of 105 E. 12th St., died Monday, July 5, 1999, at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at DeLoach Funeral Home with the Revs. Henry K. Erwin and Tommy McCook officiating. Burial will be in Burke Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Horton, a native of Screven County, had lived in Burke County most of his life. He had retired from First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro as a church custodian. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 120. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro, where he was a member of Brinson Coleman Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Mae K. Horton; a son, Clifford O. Horton III, Augusta; a daughter, Helen Q. Smith, Centerville; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be members of American Legion Post 120.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
