Mr. James Parker



Mr. James Edward Parker, 77, of 2402 Wheeless Road, died Thursday, July 1, 1999, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Starling-Hatcher Funeral Home with the Rev. Len Chavis officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Parker, a native of Augusta, had retired as an auto body mechanic. He was a Baptist.

The family said, "He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, great-grandfather, who will be missed dearly by all of his family and friends."

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Parker; a son, James E. Parker Jr., Springfield, S.C.; two daughters, Francis J. Joiner, Augusta, and Betty J. Usry, Martinez; three sisters, Jean Chavis, Margaret Benson and Ruby Odum, all of Augusta; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Billy Cawley, Doug Usry, Sean C. Joiner, Ted Russell, Ronnie Newman and John McElroy.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
