On my summer vacation ...

VACATIONERS:

Marty and Doris Charnock of Augusta

DESTINATION:

London

DATES OF TRIP:

April 8-20

OUR TRAVELING COMPANIONS WERE:

A tour group made up of approximately 55 people from the Augusta area.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING WE SAW WAS:

Hyde Park, massive tulip beds in full bloom in front of Buckingham Palace.

THE BEST THING WE ATE WAS:

Afternoon tea at the Ritz Hotel.

THE BIGGEST INCONVENIENCE WAS:

Having our Concord flight return to New York because of potential engine failure.

THE THING WE'LL REMEMBER MOST ABOUT OUR TRIP IS:

The welcome the Queen Elizabeth 2 received from tugboats and fireboats as we passed the Statue of Liberty. The QE2 was on the last leg of its worldwide cruise.

ON OUR NEXT TRIP:

We're going to the Canadian Rockies.

OTHER COMMENTS:

It would take several lifetimes to see London.
