Our government must always look for ways and opportunities to cut taxes. Let me suggest two:
First, the marriage penalty tax should be eliminated. Two values that should always be encouraged are work and the family unit. A working couple should not be penalized. The marriage penalty should be eliminated.
Second, inheritance taxes should be reduced. Families with small businesses and farms should be allowed to pass them from one generation to the next. These taxes should be reduced so small businesses and farms are not taxed to death just because the older generation passes away.
The elimination of the marriage penalty tax and reduction of inheritance taxes make good common sense.
