WAYNESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. John Wesley Phillips Sr., 82, of 642 Cherokee Drive, died Sunday, June 27, 1999, at Burke County Hospital.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at DeLoach Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Erwin officiating. Burial will be in Blythe United Methodist Church, Blythe.
Mr. Phillips, a native of Blythe, had retired from the Burke County Board of Education as director of transportation. He was a member of Waynesboro Masonic Lodge 274 Free and Accepted Masons and the Waynesboro Lions Club. He was a member of Waynesboro First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, John W. Phillips Jr., Augusta; a daughter, Janice Forrester, Macon; a sister, Frances P. Hill, Wrens; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Avery Salter, Greg Salter, Jerry Salter, Ted Salter, Phil Salter, Greg Coursey, Chad Jenkins and Gene Jenkins Jr.
