Mr. Marcus Sterling Dement, 24, of 17 Bristlecone Way, died Tuesday, June 8, 1999, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Platt's Funeral Home, Belair Road, with the Rev. Stephen Conn officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. Dement, a native of Bossier City, La., was a student at Augusta State University and was a server at Calvert's Restaurant.
Survivors include his father, Steve Dement, Bossier City; his mother and stepfather, Wanda D. and William E. La Vigne, Augusta; three brothers, Shane McNeel Dement and Joel Christian Dement, both of Augusta, and Steve Norris Dement, Bossier City; his paternal grandparents, George and Sunshine Dement, Bossier City; and his maternal grandmother, Genee Barnes, Augusta.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Lord, Charles Moody, Chuck Lanier, Allen DeLaigle, Jacob Dement and Beau Parker.
Friends may call at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
