Mr. Lewis Aldred Sr.



THOMSON -- Mr. Lewis C. Aldred Sr., 82, of 406 Dixie Drive, died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Columbia Augusta Medical Center.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Thomson First Baptist Church with Dr. James C. Elder Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Aldred, a native of McDuffie County, was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a resident engineer with the Department of Transportation. He was a member of Thomson First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Lewis C. Aldred Jr., Pascagoula, Miss.; two daughters, Patricia A. Tyrer, Largo, Fla., and Paula A. Hawkins, Thomson; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson, Lincoln, R.I.; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jessie James, Luke A. Martin, Jerry Drew, Milas Bennett, David Bennett and Bobby Aldred.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of First Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class.

Friends may call at the residence of Paula Hawkins.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Curtis Funeral Home.
