Shell game

The shooting sports segment of the East District Sports Festival, originally scheduled for Saturday and today at Pinetucky Gun Club, was wrapped up on Saturday.

The shooter closest to perfection was Ed Shultz of Dearing, Ga., who hit 99 out of a possible 100 clay targets while competing in the Seniors Class in skeet.

The shooting competition of the Georgia State Games will be held at Pinetucky Gun Club, now in its 14th year, on July 24-25.

The club's facilities are among the finest in the nation, with four trap fields, five skeet fields and a sanctioned sporting clays course, a 24-point rifle range, 24-point pistol range and an 11-point indoor air gun range.

The club is open to the public and membership is not required to use the facilities.

Several international shooting teams including the British and Israelis used the club for practice prior to the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
