EDGEFIELD, S.C. -- Mr. Roy Stevens, 44, of 184 Adams Road, died Friday, May 14, 1999, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at New Salem Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, Saluda, with the Revs. Sam Stevens and Doris Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Stevens, a native of Edgefield County, was a textile worker and a member of New Salem Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.
Survivors include a son, Bernard Gladney, Trenton; two daughters, Theressa Moton, Anderson, and JoAnn Whitfall, Johnston; his mother, Ida Bell Stevens Roper, Edgefield; his stepfather, Raymond Roper, Edgefield; four brothers, Gilmore Stevens and Sam Stevens, both of Edgefield, James H. Stevens, Washington, D.C., and Joseph Stevens, Saluda; four sisters, Betty M. Cannady and Virginia Burton, both of Edgefield, and Gloria Burton and Geneva Hill, both of Saluda; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Butler & Son Funeral Home, Saluda, is in charge of arrangements.
