Mr. Percy Holmes

SARDIS, Ga. -- Mr. Percy James Holmes, 69, of 428 Habersham Church Road, died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at University Hospital, Augusta.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Phinazee and Son Funeral Home, Waynesboro, with the Rev. Willie J. Jackson Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Jobe Spring Baptist Church cemetery.

Mr. Holmes, a native of Burke County, was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church.

The family said, "He will be loved and missed by those who knew him."

Survivors include a son, Alvin P. Holmes, Daytona, Fla.; four daughters, Evonia H. Pogues, Isabel Butler, Gerrill Holmes and Edith Rogers, all of Moreno Valley, Calif.; five stepsons, Calvin Harrison, Robert Harrison, Jack Harrison and Andrew Harrison, all of Waynesboro, and Bobby Harrison, Augusta; three step-daughters, Geneva Mack and Eloise Lane, both of Waynesboro, and Betty K. Harrison, Sardis; and 26 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Robert Harrison, Brain Washington, Patrick Mack, Inus Holmes, Andrew Harrison and Donald Brown.

Friends may call at the residence or at the funeral home.
