LINCOLNTON, Ga. -- Mr. Jack Ferguson, 64, of 566 Elm St., died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 5 p.m. today at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joel Embry officiating. Burial will be in Lincolnton City Cemetery.
Mr. Ferguson, a native of Lincoln County, had retired as vice president of Piedmont Wood Co. He was a graduate of the CSRA Law Enforcement Academy and served as special deputy sheriff for 16 years. He served on the Lincolnton City Council for six years and the Lincoln County Board of Education for eight years. He was the former chairman of the Lincoln County Board of Health and a city policeman from 1989-92. He was also a member of Lincolnton Free and Accepted Masons No. 354.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Chafin Ferguson; three daughters, Joy F. Ashmore, Lincolnton, Jackie F. Powell, Evans, and Sandra F. Reese, Lincolnton; four brothers, Walter Lee Ferguson Jr., Marietta, and Hammond Ferguson, Hugh Allen Ferguson, Alex Ferguson, all of Lincolnton; two sisters, Margaret F. McDowell and Evelyn F. Smalley, both of Lincolnton; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Reese, Curry Hogan, Earl McKellar, Alex Willingham, Michael Ferguson, Lonnie Edmunds and Gregg Powell.
