Police search for N. Augusta boy

NORTH AUGUSTA -- Police are searching for a 6-year-old North Augusta boy who was reported missing Saturday.

Keenan Omalia was last seen near his residence at the 800 block of Georgetown Drive. He told his mother about 4:15 p.m. he was going to play at a park near the apartment complex where he lives.

Several witnesses, including a child he played with, saw him until 6 p.m., North Augusta Public Safety Department Lt. Tim Pearson said.

Keenan was last seen riding his red and black Street Shark model bicycle and wearing a white long-sleeve shirt with green "Scooby Doo" lettering, blue jeans, sandals and white socks. He is described as being of mixed heritage, weighing 58 pounds, 4 feet 1 inch tall, with black hair and brown eyes.

Keenan and his mother are new to the area, and police didn't give the mother's name Saturday night.

Authorities said they are treating the situation as a missing child case and not a child custody incident.

North Augusta police were joined in their search late Saturday by other area authorities. Anyone with information can call the North Augusta Department of Public Safety at (803) 279-2121.
