Mr. Leonard Roye Sr.



EVANS -- Mr. Leonard Daniel Roye Sr., 73, of 4860 Washington Road, died Thursday, April 15, 1999, at Medical College of Georgia Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Thomas L. King Funeral Home, Martinez, with the Rev. David Martin officiating. Burial will be in Westover Memorial Park Mausoleum, Augusta.

Mr. Roye, a native of Piedmont, Ala., had retired as a plumber and pipe fitter. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he was a tank driver under Gen. Patton. He was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 150 for 42 years and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Lowe Roye; four sons, Leonard D. Roye Jr. and Raleigh Roye, both of Lincolnton, Rex Roye, Appling, and Randall Roye, Evans; three daughters, Verline White, Grovetown, and Selina Roye and Malissa Roye, both of Evans; two brothers, Dan Roye and Paul Roye, both of Appling; three sisters, Jewel Coburn, New Hampshire, Doris Hagan, Green Cove Springs, Fla., and Nellie Peek, Jacksonville, Fla.; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Michael Roye, Timothy Roye, Doug Robinson, Mike Jenkins, Johnnie Lowe Jr., Donald Lowe and Arthur Lowe.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at the funeral home.
